Should You Spend Lots of God's Money on Church Chairs?

Frankly, we don't think you should.  Here are some of the reasons.  Church chairs are not pews.  Although they will last you for generations, history has shown that after 10 years - 15 years your church will have grown tired of the color or look or built a new building, and these chairs will be in the youth department or Sunday School.

Some features are good ones to have, such as lumbar support for the back (makes the chair much more comfortable), but you don't need to pay more for fancy foam, curved backs, lots of expensive fasteners, or other bells and whistles.  After all, these are only $36 chairs.  You are not buying $3000 chairs.  You will buy more in a few years.  Shop for the chair which is comfortable and at the best price.  You'll be glad you did!

PS - One consideration - make sure your chairs are fully assembled (ours are!) so you don't have to depend on volunteers putting together chairs incorrectly, and make sure the fabric is olefin based, which is stain proof (ours are also)

What Kind of Chair Are You Looking For?

Let's begin with some information - there are basically three styles of chairs used in a worship setting (not including pews or theater chairs)

  1. Continuous Seating Chairs - Forms a row where the chairs interlock and the padded areas touch, allowing you to sit anywhere comfortably, even between two seats. Most of our chairs are this style.  Example

  2. Individual Seating Chairs -  This was the early style which developed in the 1980's, with the padded areas in between the legs.  They still connect together to form a continuous row.  Less expensive than Continuous Seating chairs.  Example

  3. Multipurpose Chairs - These styles can be used in classrooms, dining areas or worship settings.  Note that most of these do not connect together, which may be a requirement for sanctuary use in your city or community.  Check with your local fire department or zoning.  Generally the least expensive. Example

Other Considerations

  • IN-STOCK CHAIRS - We then move unto another consideration - many chairs today are made up in advance of your order, in popular colors.  Some of these are imported, others made in the USA.  In stock, imported church chairs will provide the greatest savings, and you can often receive them in 1-3 weeks from ordering.  Some styles offer features like extra width or arms.   Financing is available, too.

  • IMPORTED CHURCH CHAIRS  offered by Worship Chairs are made to the same specifications as the American made chairs.  The only difference is the cost, not the quality.

  • WE OFFER BOTH OPTIONS - Imported stock chairs and USA made Custom chairs.  There are a few USA stock chairs, too.

  • CUSTOM CHAIRS are made when you order, in your choice of fabrics and finishes. These chairs take longer (due to manufacturing) and are more expensive, but can provide a more stylish look for your church.  Expect a wait of 4-10 weeks, and expect to pay from $5-25 more per chair.
